El conocimiento que los investigadores de la Comisión Chilena de Energía Nuclear generan se comunica de forma constante a través de diversos tipos de publicaciones en revistas científicas, las cuales se encuentran en la base de datos del servicio Web of Science (WOS) de la empresa Thomson Reuters.
Esta empresa, desde hace unos años, ha puesto gran énfasis en adaptarse a las nuevas tecnologías con el objetivo de facilitar el acceso a la información, sin limitar el tipo de publicación, las que provienen de diferentes áreas de la ciencia. Como resultado de este esfuerzo, la empresa implementó la plataforma Web of Science (WoS), que integra todos los textos que antes pertenecían al listado de Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) y que, actualmente, integran los listados de Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE); Social Sciences Citation Index (SCCI); Arts & Humanities Citation Index (AHCI), con lo que llega a más interesados y, como consecuencia, aumenta la difusión del conocimiento a nivel mundial.
